AKITI Bridge — The Camunda 8 workflow platform

Stop writing
glue code
for every project.

Design workflows, connect Formio forms, run tasks, and monitor every case in real time — one platform on top of Camunda 8, with SLA tracking, bottleneck heatmaps and a full audit trail. Zero custom code. Still on Camunda 7? We migrate you to 8, too.

Process intelligence

Don't just run your processes.
Understand them.

Bridge turns process data into answers managers actually ask for.

🔥

Where do cases get stuck?

Heatmaps colour each BPMN step by time spent, so the slowest step is obvious at a glance.

⏱️

Are we meeting our SLAs?

Define targets per workflow. Bridge flags breaches and escalates before a deadline turns into a complaint.

⏪

What exactly happened in this case?

Replay the token's journey through the process, step by step, with the variables at each point.

📄

What do I tell management on Monday?

A weekly PDF report covers volumes, SLA performance, hot steps and workload by workflow.

Tasks organised by deadline

The task inbox sorts work into lanes: Late, Due today, This week, Later and To claim, so people start with what is most urgent.

The real cost

Every Formio + Camunda project starts the same broken way.

🕐
2–5 days of custom glue code. Per project. Webhook endpoints, variable serialization, type coercion, error handling — hand-written every single time.
🔇
Zero visibility once the form is submitted. Nobody knows where the process is without Camunda Cockpit admin access — and clients are left in the dark.
🚨
Silent failures discovered days later. A service task fails at 2am. No alert. A client calls 3 days later. You're already behind.
📋
Mappings in a spreadsheet owned by one person. 20 forms, 15 processes, one engineer who might leave — and no audit trail when something breaks.
FormioWebhookHandler.java — before AKITI Bridge
// Manual webhook handler — written from scratch again
@PostMapping("/webhook/formio")
public ResponseEntity<?> handle(
    @RequestBody Map<String, Object> payload) {
  // pray the field names match...
  String name = (String) payload.get("patient_name");
  // snake_case or camelCase this week?
  Object raw = payload.get("doctor_id");
  Long doctorId = Long.parseLong(raw.toString());
  // TODO: handle null, type error, missing fields...
  // TODO: retry logic, error notification...
  // TODO: version pinning when BPMN updates...
}
⚠ 3 days later: wrong process version was started. No audit trail. No alert.
✓ With AKITI Bridge: visual mapper, version pinning, instant failure alerts. Setup: 45 minutes.
AKITI Bridge

The missing layer between
forms and workflows.

🔗

Zero-code form→process connection

Set up a Formio webhook once. Bridge receives the submission, maps variables, and starts the correct Camunda 8 process automatically. 45 minutes, not 5 days.

👁

Live BPMN process monitoring

Every process instance is visible in real time — with token highlighting on the actual BPMN diagram. No Camunda Cockpit access required.

⚙

Visual variable mapper — with auto-mapping

Bridge auto-maps Formio fields to Camunda variables the moment a form is linked, using fuzzy matching to pair fields like patient_name with patientName even when casing, punctuation, or wording don't line up exactly. Review the suggestions, adjust what needs adjusting — most mappings need zero manual work.

📥

Built-in task inbox

End users see their assigned tasks and claimable group tasks directly in your portal — with full variable context — without ever touching Camunda Tasklist.

🔁

Camunda 7 → 8 migration path

Still running Camunda 7? Bridge doubles as your migration runway — re-map processes and forms to Zeebe-native Camunda 8 without a rip-and-replace project.

Still on Camunda 7?
We'll get you to 8 — without the risk.

Camunda 7 support has a clock on it. A full re-platform is intimidating — AKITI Bridge turns it into a controlled, incremental rollout instead of a big-bang rewrite.

One integration layer, both engines

Bridge sits between Formio and Camunda, so migrating the process engine underneath doesn't mean redesigning your forms or your task experience. Move process by process, at your own pace.

Process-by-process cutover

Migrate one workflow at a time instead of freezing the whole system for a big-bang release.

🗺️

Variable & form mapping carried over

Existing Formio fields are re-mapped to Zeebe variables visually — no rewriting form logic from scratch.

👁️

Monitoring from day one

Newly migrated processes get live BPMN tracking and failure alerts immediately — no blind spots during cutover.

Process data governance

Audit trails matter more than you think — until something goes wrong.

When a process fails or a compliance question lands, you need three answers immediately.

🔍

What data entered the process?

Every variable from every form submission is captured at the moment of entry — timestamped and scoped to the process instance.

✏️

What changed it, and when?

Every mutation across every workflow step is logged. No digging through raw Camunda history or database queries.

⚖️

Which step made the decision?

The full variable journey — from Formio to Zeebe and back — is traceable in under 60 seconds. Accountable processes, by design.

About AKITIx Solutions

We built the tool
we wished existed.

Why Bridge exists

After building custom Formio + Camunda integrations for healthcare providers, universities, banks, and public administrations, we kept writing the same code. Days of work. Every project. We extracted all of it into a single, reusable platform — AKITI Bridge.

AKITIx Solutions specialises in business process automation — helping organisations connect their forms and workflows cleanly, and helping teams still running Camunda 7 move to Camunda 8 without a risky, all-at-once rewrite.

We believe the middleware layer should be invisible so your team can focus on the processes that matter — not the plumbing connecting them.

AKITI Bridge is the product we use for every client engagement. It isn't a demo — it's the platform we run in production, continuously improved based on real integration and migration challenges across five verticals.

Questions

Before you book a demo.

The questions every technical lead asks first.

Do we need to rebuild our BPMN diagrams or forms?
No. Bridge sits alongside your existing Formio forms and Camunda process definitions. You connect them through the visual mapper — nothing about your BPMN diagrams or form schemas needs to change.
Does this replace Camunda Cockpit and Tasklist entirely?
For day-to-day use, yes — monitoring, task completion, and analytics all happen inside Bridge. Cockpit and Tasklist remain available for deep engine-level administration when your team needs them.
What does the 45-minute setup actually involve?
Pointing your Formio webhook at Bridge, selecting the target Camunda process, and reviewing the auto-mapped variables. Most of that time is verification, not configuration.
We're still on Camunda 7 — is that a blocker?
No — it's the reason to start now. Bridge supports an incremental, process-by-process migration path to Camunda 8, so you're not stuck doing a single risky cutover.
How is failure handling different from a raw Camunda setup?
Failures surface immediately as a highlighted node on the live BPMN view, with error context and a one-click retry — instead of surfacing days later through a client complaint.
Can we try this before committing to a full rollout?
Yes — the usual path is a live 30-minute demo connecting one of your real forms to a real process, followed by a scoped pilot on a single workflow before wider rollout.

Ready to ship your first integration
this week?

Book a free 30-minute live demo. We'll show you a real Formio submission starting a Camunda 8 process in your browser — mapped, monitored, and audited — in under an hour. Migrating from Camunda 7? We'll map out your path too.
